This is a Nepenthes. These plants are pretty neat. The cups are filled with an acidic substance which is used to digest its prey. The outside is covered with nectar that attracts insects, and actually makes them a bit dizzy. Losing their balance, they fall into the cup. The slippery sides of the cup prevent them from being able to escape.

Nothing cooler than carnivorous plants, are they related to the Venus flytrap? Great take for the theme.
Nice one, I have seen some here but in the botannical gardens. Great picture.
Great shot. All the post of live green plant like materials is making me want spring.
Looks like it maybe related to the Pitcher Plant
Great color and DOF on this long green plant.
I have never seen one of those, that is really cool! I want one now!! For how deadly it is to insects, it sure makes for an amazing picture. Nice!
Carnivorous plants are so fascinating. Thanks for sharing such a cool image of this one...
I am a carnivorous plant aficionado. Alas, they are rather difficult to keep as house plants (I've tried). We have several species that grow in the NJ Pinelands, very cool. Nice shot.
